OUR COMMITMENT TO CHILDREN’S SAFETY
The Anglican Parish of Altona/Laverton is committed to ministering to children, young people and vulnerable adults by providing an environment that is physically, emotionally and spiritually safe.
This parish is committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people. We will endeavour to provide a safe and supportive environment for children and young people through safeguards which include: Working With Children and police checks for all staff and volunteers who have contact with children, and ongoing training, support and review for staff and volunteers.
We are committed to promoting a culture within this parish where our practice reflects values of integrity, duty of care, transparency, inclusion, and mutual accountability.
We are also bound by the commitments of the Anglican Diocese of Melbourne, in its Safe Ministry Policy, Code of Conduct for Child Safety and Wellbeing, and Guidelines for Child Safety and Wellbeing. The latest versions of these and other relevant documents can be found on the diocesan website.
