Lent resources 2022

There are many resources available to help you make the most of this season of prayer and renewal. Below are just a few to explore:

The Passion according to Luke

Each week during Lent, we are all invited to read a portion of Luke’s Gospel, tracing the events leading up to Jesus’ death. This reading is also used at our midweek Eucharists. (The links below take you to two translations of the passage, which can be seen side by side.)

Common Grace: Stories that challenge us to see differently

This Lent, Common Grace has invited theologians from across these lands now called Australia to help us to explore how Jesus calls us to See Differently – to see our enemies with love, the stranger with welcome, all creation with care, and the suffering with compassion.

Join us as we explore how Jesus’ sacrificial love, in restoring our broken relationship with God, opens our eyes to Seeing Differently and calls us to act justly, to love mercy, and walk humbly with God in today’s world.

Each week we will be sharing a reflection from a different theologian with discussion questions and prayers to help you engage more deeply.

A daily Examen: prayerful conversation with God at the end of the day

The Daily Examen, developed by St. Ignatius Loyola, is a technique of prayerful reflection on the events of the day in order to detect God’s presence and discern God’s direction for us. The Examen is an ancient practice in the Church that can help us see God’s hand at work in our whole experience.

Anglican Overseas Aid: The Perfect Meal (a Lenten reflection)

This Lent we are invited to think about Commitment, Community, Nutrition, Sharing, Sacraments, and finally Generosity. These important aspects of our discipleship are illustrated by the types of meals in which we may partake.
